The founding story

UoBD SAIL was founded in 2026 by a handful of students who wanted a place to take AI seriously: to read the papers, run the experiments, and build things that hold up.
We are young and we say so plainly: a small founding team, doing the groundwork properly. General computer science has a home in the university’s ACM chapter; our work starts where the models do.
Mission
SAIL equips students with skills, projects, and connections to contribute meaningfully to AI, through hands-on research, industry exposure, and a culture of intellectual curiosity.
